Day One
Hey guys,
I MISS YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ah, Flighters - I missed you SOOOO much last night...Fri night was NOT the same without you:(
Wow, this is weird. My first blog from Australia. Feel like I am on holiday...:) Feeling pumped after yesterday, Day One as a Planetshakers Intern. Wow. There are about 5 of us in Creative (Music) and prob 35 in all the other areas (Youth, Events, Media)...and had a pretty productive first day. I arrived to find my team working on a radio ad promoting a speaker coming up in a few weeks...all they needed was a voiceover. They got me to read it and bam, the next thing I know I am in the studio recording a Planetshakers radio commercial! HA! Classic! Gonna be on air next week I think...will send it to you guys when they are done editing:)
Am still getting me head around being here...arrived at 9am Thurs morning...Mumma picked me up, and I was greeted by the hot Australian sun:) So gorgeous - and to be able to breathe air - woo hoo! We went straight to the cargo place to grab my bags...what a pain in the **! Go somewhere to pay, then go and get a signature, drive somewhere else to to get a stamp, then to customs to answer questions, then to quarantine to answer more, then back to the cargo place to kit ourselves up in HOT fluro yellow vests and walk along the "special yellow painted pathway" to meet the forklift guy who then brought my 7 pieces to the car. Cha Ching! 4 hours later and we were off! So glad to get it all shoved in the car...Peter Simpson you are a LEGEND mate:) (finally picked up the other bag too!)
Soooooo good to see my fam again...Mum surprised me with her famous lasagne for a bit of a birthday dinner Thurs night, traditional dinner table antics went on with my bro the joke teller and Katie and I in tears on the floor choking in hysterics. Classic moments. Then coffee on the balcony watching the sun go down. Gorgeous:)
Then there was youth last night. "BOOM". Wow. 700 kids at Melbourne High...setup started at 3pm...insane. The prayer meeting 20 mins before doors opened was intense...I have never felt the spirit so strong in a room...my chest was seriously hurting...about 200 leaders and interns were pacing up and down all over the hall worshiping and speaking in tongues - FULL ON! This went on for about 10 mins...and it was CRAZY! The kids were screaming from outside...and the spirit was going crazy - so awesome:) 2 hours to set up and even longer to bump out...I cant imagine church on sunday. They start bumping in at 10am. For a 5pm service. Hello. Will give you an update on that stich;) HA!
But worship was fabbo...nothing compared to Vine worship though;) Or Flight for that matter!!! Mike Gug preached an phenomenal word on Mark 2 - Jesus at Capernaum...and us taking up our mat and WALKING...wow. Dude so powerful. Dez-Man you would have LOVED it;)
About to attemped unpacking my 4th out of 8th bag...rah. This is proving to be a bit of a headache. Loving the LACK of wireless here. NOT. Planetshakers have it thank the LORD, as are they OBSESSED with Macs...see guys, it was meant to be:) So Wed and Fri's at least I will be online all day...the other days, well my parents have dial-up. Hello. What is THAT about...what century are we in again?!?!
I feel like Dorothy..."That's right Toto, we are NOT in Hong Kong anymore"...
OK guys...missing you like crazy, want you ALL to come visit...
Ah - really missing you guys...tomorrow is gonna be hard, I am SO excited to be here dont get me wrong...but you guys are so special to me:):) So DONT forget me ok dammit!
OK...I am off to start the battle of the suitcases...ah...Nat's greatest dilemma: way too many clothes and just not enough coat hangers. Story of my life.
Ok I am really going now:)
STIR UP THE FIRE...!!!! OH YEAH!!!!
Love always
